The Buffalo Home Show 2018

Kinetic Buffalo Home Show Display 2018

The Buffalo Niagara Convention Center graciously hosted another year of the Buffalo Home Show. This year, Kinetic Kitchen & Bath was pleased to take part in the Home Show for our seventh year. As a new Kinetic employee, and a designer, I was anxious to experience the Home Show for my very first time. I was excited to share with attendees what is new in the design world, and hoped to inspire people with their upcoming projects. Reflecting back, I felt a great vibe at the Home Show; everyone really seemed thrilled to see the innovative products of 2018.

I observed to find four main things that drew people to our booth. The first being the “fancy faucet”, then the island countertop, the cabinet color and finally the vanity mirror. Once people were at the booth they engaged by opening the island drawers to find out that there was much more in store! After seeing these amazing features, everybody wanted to know more. Is this what is trending? Where can I get this? What do you do as a company?

The great news is that Kinetic Kitchen & Bath does it all! We assist with room layout, design choices and have our own team of installers. I have expanded on the Buffalo Home Show 2018 highlights to greater increase your knowledge of our eye catching products.

The "Fancy Faucet" In a Multipurpose Island

Kitchen islands have become a focal point and a place for everyone to gather in a kitchen. Not only does an island offer you more cabinet space, but it gives you the opportunity for a functional layout. A kitchen island is the perfect way to showcase fun plumbing fixtures as a design element.

In our kitchen island display, we showed a sink and a beautiful Kholer faucet. This faucet surely makes a statement and is practical as well. The pull out head provides a spray useful for prepping food, an aerated stream for filling pots, or coffee makers, and a sweep spray for cleaning. The faucet turns to offer a 360 degree range of motion. A fun feature is that the faucet head magnets back into place. Not only does the coil add an industrial look but it ensures stability.

Quartz Countertop

Many guests walked up to the countertop guessing what material it was. We displayed a beautiful Cambria Quartz: Iron Bridge. Then came the question: what is better, granite or quartz? Granite may be the main competitor, but quartz proves to be less maintenance which attracts many. Quartz is highly resistant to staining and does not require regular re-sealing. Another great thing about quartz is that there is a variety of color and pattern options. Some patterns mimic the look of stone, and are very realistic and appealing. A popular look is the large scale veining pattern which imitates a natural stone. This style works great with the current trend of simplicity and cleanliness.

We displayed a waterfall edge which is when the countertop extends down the side of a cabinet and meets the floor. This adds a sense of style and power. There is no better way to showcase the natural beauty of the stone in your kitchen than by using a waterfall edge. The waterfall edge on our display allowed the light colored quartz to contrast against the darker cabinets which can make a space feel larger.

Cabinet Color

Many had asked what is trending now for cabinet color.  With fun color options, is it too much to have an entire kitchen with a painted color on the cabinet? White will always be a popular color for cabinets. It is timeless and goes well with any style. When using white cabinets it creates a simple feel. What is trending now is to add a pop of color and one way to do this is through the kitchen island. This breaks up an all-white kitchen, creating an accent piece. Another popular color for cabinets right now is grey. Again, this is a versatile color that may be used for any style kitchen.

Our Buffalo Home Show island display is crafted by Koch Cabinets. We showed off their new color, charcoal blue. I absolutely love this color, and think it is the perfect color to add personality to a kitchen.

Effective Storage Solutions

When designing a kitchen, of course it is important to create a space that is pleasing to the eye. But, it is key to create a space that is extremely functional for everyday use. Today, there are SO many fancy cabinet inserts to help make your life in the kitchen more organized and trouble-free. Our home show display boasted of multiple accessories. The container base organizer is great for storing food in Oxo Good Grips Pop Containers (BPA free). The knife block and utensil base organizer includes knife inserts made of moveable flex rods which adjust to hold a variety of knives. Under the sink we showed the pullout u-shaped wire basket which features soft-close full-extension slides. This insert allows for easy access to stored items.

Lighted Vanity Mirror

Walking by, it was impossible not to stop and take a look at the lighted vanity mirror. Around the perimeter of the mirror is an energy efficient LED light. This is beneficial as a light source in a room, and is great for getting ready in the morning. An issue that I have in my bathroom is that my mirror fogs up each time I shower. With the Luna mirror you don’t have to worry about this being an issue. There is a built in defogger pad which leaves the mirror clear at all times. This mirror comes in different sizes and styles suitable for your needs.

If you loved our Home Show display or if you did not get a chance to stop by,

we now have the kitchen and vanity displays back in our showroom! Stop by to take a look. Our designers are here to assist with any questions.

Our team is looking forward to helping you get started on your kitchen or bath remodel!
