Hello I'm Chris Connelly, President and owner of Kinetic Kitchen and Bath. I am going to install the safeway step insert into one of the display tubs in our showroom
We start working just after 2:00
We chose to install the step in a fairly standard size fiberglass tub
![]() first we mark the doorway with a template Next is really the hardest part, we have to cut out the opening (VERY CAREFULLY) while we can install the product into virtually any tub, fiberglass tubs cut the easiest, then steel, and last is cast iron... we have to grind the opening into cast iron which takes longer and makes a bit more noise and mess, but we encapsulate the entire room in plastic so its spotless when we are finished.
![]() finally the cutting is complete
Now I have to trim the step insert to meet the exact profile of your tub. in order to do this, I first make a template of the wall of your tub, then trace it onto the step insert, and finally (VERY CAREFULLY) cut the insert to meet the profile of the tub.
![]() bottom reinforcement is applied
Finally the step in fastened with high strength adhesive.
The whole process usually takes less than 1/2 a day!!!
